OTR: Sundry & Vice & Thread Cincinnati

It's been a week but here we are! Time for a recap!

First: Sundry & Vice in OTR. I love it. Over in the alley behind Washington Park is the cutest little apothecary style bar. It's small, fits only about 50 people max. & It's kind of dark, so forgive my photos. But it is great.

Tons of mixed drinks, tons of trendy people, & tonnnns of creative feel. & it's off that beaten path of Vine & Main Streets, so not very crowded yet. You will want to go in expecting to lose your pocket change...  each cocktail is $10 or more. Worth it though. Very refreshing list :D

Okay, now. Thread! Thank you everyone for coming out to support us! We're really excited for the launch of our partnership. We loved seeing all our vendors, all our partners & all of YOU. YOU are the best! I hope you had a lovely time snacking on Brown Bear's delectable desserts & talking shop with our blogtourage (nod to Liz for that catchy terminology).

Much love going to you guys this week. I'm working pretty darn late hours at my day job, but it's so nice that every day, when I check in on Ida Street, you're here & smiling & lovely. Thank you, as always, for making my day.

Return of the Midi Skirt

Do you remember when I first posted about the midi? Shortly after I moved to Ida Street, I fell in love with this show stopping skirt. But I only wore it one time.

See, I had some trouble pairing it. The thing fits like a glove, so if I tucked in a shirt, it got very bunchy…  Plus, **** every time I pulled this midi out of my closet I thought to myself: "Wow, this is way too dressy." Off the list for Christmas, cancel the Thanksgiving plans, Work? Really? Who are you trying to impress?

I was wasting away precious midi skirt opportunities, until, one fabulous day, I found the answer to both dilemmas. The midi's high waist screams for a cropped top & that also brings my fancy level down a few notches.

All is right with the world.

Or is it? Rewind for a sec. See my ****'s? Re-read that sentence. Do you want to punch me in the face? No? Good. That was aggressive of me to say & I doubt I would take a punch to the face very well. But here's a more tactful question: Why did I keep talking myself out of wearing my midi? Was I afraid of what other people thought? I love this midi. & I've always tried to live by the rule, if you wear anything with enough confidence, it will always look appropriate. Wednesday date night, Monday work day, Weekend brunch -- aren't any (& all) a good occasion for a midi skirt?

Which brings me to this final thought: shouldn't we just wear what we love, because we love it?
Voices in your mind, & outside of it, be damned.

Food for thought this Monday morning. I hope it inspires :D
Now, everyone, go have a terrific week!  xox

HAPPY FRIDAY! Took us long enough, huh?!

Guys, we're in the middle of our event season & I am TIRED.  I know once we grow up we're supposed to start working a lot  & I'm for sure in the club. We're pulling long days and long nights at my day job. But I miss you!!!

Life updates: THREAD HH was a hit! Thank you all for coming! Thank you to Sundry & Vice for hosting -- your space is amazing & to Brown Bear for feeding us -- check out  this amazing spread she made!!!

Jack (my little brother) is graduating from college TOMORROW! Then he's off to Italy for a stint & then he's moving to DC to work full time & take on the world.

This outfit has been on my body pretty regularly. I know I've said it, but the high riser is a no brainer in my opinion. It is so comfortable to know everything that needs to be covered, is. But then you get to play a little flirty with the crop top! Oh man guys. I live in this outfit.

My friend Natalie took these photos (right before she moved to Columbus! Ah!). Read her post on new beginnings here. I'll definitely miss her but am so excited for the new opportunities!

Lastly: If anyone has recommendations on beating the tired vibes I'm fighting -- I'm all ears. Love you!!! xoxoxox

DSC_0019.jpg

Oh guys, you are so fabulous. Remember a few weeks ago when I was prepping for my Madewell Event? I saw so many of you at Kenwood Mall! Styling & rocking & cheersing galore. Thank you SO much for stopping by to hang.  I scored big with you guys :D

& I also scored big on the sale! Just wanted to jump online today to give you guys a few updates. First & foremost: the clothes I came back with after my Madewell/Ida Street event. Note: have been wearing on rotation for the last few weeks:

Sensing a trend? I'm a big fan of the high riser & crop these days... but more on that later.

Next up: I'm heading to Indianapolis Thursday & Friday for work. Then, Saturday, we're driving to Hillsdale to watch my brother graduate! Gosh I still remember moving him in 4 years ago.

Lastly: While I'm away, THREAD is hosting some pretty delightful shenanigans. We've been planning a happy hour launch for you at the brand new Sundry & Vice in OTR.  Get the info here. I hope you can make it & I'm really bummed I won't be able to see you there. & that's about it! Hope you have the best week. Xoxo.
