Introducing: Thread Cincinnati + Clothe Ohio

clothe ohio.jpg

So this is a really special day. Remember a long time ago, all the way back in the fall, when I told you about an awesome project I was working on with a stylish group of local fashion bloggers? Good things come to those who wait. Today I'd like to introduce you to THREAD Cincinnati.

We are ten fashion blogs (meet us all here) with ten unique styles & ten unique views of the Queen City. Together, we're threading it all together to try to give you comprehensive coverage of the social & fashion scene in Cincy.

For our debut project we teamed up with Clothe Ohio, Have you heard of them? They follow the Tom's Shoes model, so basically for every awesome Ohio Themed sweatshirt or tshirt sold, they give away another one, partnering with a local charity to clothe an Ohioan in need.

We all met up this past weekend to style our classic tees & take photos. Today, across the web, you can see our ten unique posts. & the best feature of all? We've made threadcincinnati.com an aggregate site that pulls all our feeds into one place.

I love my Clothe Ohio tee. It combines everything I believe in. I will say, they run prettttty small, even smaller than American Apparel, but that makes them even more stylish.

& last but not least, I told you this was a very special day. THREAD is giving away one Clothe Ohio sweatshirt of your choice! (We love this one), Enter using the rafflecopter below. The contest is open through 3/18  to US residents only. Additional entries for every THREAD gal's instagram you follow ;D

Layering a Jump Suit for Spring

layering jumpsuit.jpg

Last night at Starbucks I had to answer an access question before I could log into the free wifi.

Choose one:
A. Spring is coming
B. Spring is here

They gave me immediate results, so I can tell you that 67% of the coffee drinking, Starbucks lovin' population of Rookwood Commons think that SPRING IS HERE. Out with the snow boots! Catch ya' later, eskimo coat!  Time to SHAKE. IT. OFF.

So here we are, pasty legs & all, ready to step, nay dance into Spring. Hit the tunes!

Okay, so clearly I'm excited. Anyways, coming to you today with a repeat offender. Remember this? Back then I called it a pant romper. Updates: I've learned romper + pants = jump suit. & that jumpsuit + cropped sweater = brand new outfit. That's some Annie-friendly math, friends.

Didn't recognize it?

I know! It looks like I invested in incredibly comfortable high rise gray jogger pants, but that's why layers are so awesome. We become outfit chameleons.

IRONY CLAD

beach.jpg

Omg. This snow. Eskimo boots. Eskimo coats. Hats. Gloves. Mittens. It's endless! Anyway, I wanted to poke a little fun at the business of it all & so I bring you ironic beach sweatshirt #2. (You can see the first one HERE. Beach sweatshirt at the beach. I thought I was so clever.)

beach.jpg

I've been seeing a lot of people layer their sweatshirts like this. In theory, I love the idea. But I can't quite figure out if I really like it on myself. Talk about preppin out. But here we are, wearing a beach sweatshirt in the snow. Which is really cold, but fun.

Stay warm, everyone!

TULLE & TWIRL

Tulle Dress.jpg

We've been living inside a snow globe in Cincinnati. It's very light, & very fluffy & powdery & wonderful. & contrasts very well with a black tulle dress.

tulle dress.jpg

A few weeks ago I was introduced to eShakti.com the online retailer. I had never heard of it before, but for the hard working, time crunched young adults we are, eShakti is really an awesome option. Why?  It's guaranteed to fit, since each piece is custom made. & best yet, you kind of get to play designer.

I have always loved tulle & have been dying to get my hands on a tulle skirt for years. The problem I ran into is that most of them are "one size fits all" & that one size did not fit me. Enter the Alexandra dress. It was already really darling, but I got to customize it. Really! I sent in my unique sizings for bust & waist. Then before check out I got to choose how I wanted the dress to fit. Sleeveless? Cap sleeves? Three quarter? Sweetheart neck? V neck? Scoop neck? Did I like tea length for the skirt? Did I want floor length? Should it hit my knees? The list of options was amazing. How had I not heard of this place before?!

My customized Alexandra dress came in just under a week. I tried it on the second I got home & twirled around through my tiny studio. It fits like a glove & twirls just how I always imagined my tulle skirt should.

& because I love you guys so much, I asked eShakti if I could score a little deal. From today through March 23, use promo code idastreet to get 10% off your eShakti purchases!* The product is ALWAYS being updated, so if you don't see anything you like now, check back. Or follow along on their Facebook, Pinterest & Instagram to see what's coming up. Go forth & customize your wardrobe!
